For over eight years, Suzanne Whitaker, Esq., has provided personal attention and professional legal representation to local residents facing challenges
in family and criminal law including divorce, child custody, adoptions, wills and trusts, business litigation, and business consulting.
Ms. Whitaker is an experienced attorney in civil and domestic relations cases and an adjunct professor of business law and labor and employment
law. In addition to being a registered mediator, she is also a registered arbitrator available to decide civil, commercial, employment, and domestic
relations cases.
Ms. Whitaker has served as a guardian ad litem in hundreds of cases in juvenile, probate, and superior courts in Henry County, Clayton County,
and Fulton County. She is a partner in Henry Guardian Advocates, LLC, a specialty firm focusing on child welfare law, and is a member of the
Georgia Association of Counsel for Children as well as the National Association of Counsel for Children. She has presented legal seminars
including “Manipulation of Children to Gain Access to the Victim” for the Flint Circuit Council on Family Violence, and
“Divorce in the Military” for the Institute on Continuing Legal Education.
An Atlanta native, Ms. Whitaker is a graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law and a former Special Assistant Attorney General for the
State of Georgia, Department of Human Resources. She currently serves as the Solicitor in the City of Stockbridge Municipal Court. She is retired
from the U.S. Navy/Naval Reserve, where she was the senior enlisted advisor at the Atlanta Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center at the Georgia
Institute of Technology and the Marietta centers.
